Free eLearning production certificate: what CEPD trains that a tool tour will not

Published September 11, 2026· Innovito Team

The free CEPD program at Innovito Digital Learning Academy certifies eLearning production craft: choosing a format that does instructional work, building to WCAG 2.2 AA as a constraint, running SAM cycles without confusing them with vendor feature names, and shipping bilingual/RTL courses. Modules 1–5 are open. The credential is an Innovito certificate of mastery, not APTD/CPTD.

Tool certifications teach the interface. A free eLearning production certificate should teach judgment: which interaction earns the pixel, which accessibility rule is a production constraint rather than a slide at the end, and when a 3D avatar is decoration. That is CEPD — Certified eLearning Production Director.

CEPD sits next to CDLA. CDLA decides whether a course should exist. CEPD decides how the course is built once the actions are mapped. If you are an instructional designer who also opens Storyline or Innovito Studio, take both. Start here if production quality is the gap.

What the free CEPD certificate covers now

The designed program is seven modules / 14 weeks / 84 learner hours. Modules 1–5 are open (the later modules stay on the catalog as previews). Live lessons include:

  1. Format is instruction. A slide type is a design decision, not a template browse. Public outline: Format is instruction.
  2. Match the pattern to the job — when a process, compare, or branch slide is the honest choice.
  3. WCAG 2.2 AA as a production constraint — contrast, labels, and tap targets before you animate.
  4. SAM cycles and ADDIE vocabulary — planning language, not a vendor feature list.
  5. Bilingual and RTL as production, not a bolt-on — Arabic layout, mirrored controls, and narration that was planned, not pasted.

Serious-game and mission-interaction lessons in the later open modules rehearse steps. Points and badges alone are not transfer proof — the gates say so out loud.

How this differs from a Studio certification

Studio is Innovito’s authoring product (45+ formats). CEPD uses those formats as a classroom, not as a product exam. Passing a CEPD gate does not certify you on Studio, Storyline, or any other tool. It certifies that you can defend a production choice in Arabic or English.

Organizations that want workshops for an in-house team should use academy consulting. Individuals who want the free certificate stay on /academy.

How to earn the CEPD certificate

  1. Open the CEPD program and create a free account.
  2. Complete open lessons in order. Activities (sort, match, order, scenarios) save to your profile.
  3. Pass the 80% module gate. Print the Innovito module or program certificate from your profile.

Same honesty line as CDLA: this is not ATD APTD/CPTD. See Academy vs ATD if you need language for a manager or a CV footnote.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free eLearning production certificate in Arabic?

Yes. CEPD lessons are bilingual. Switch language in the header. The certificate uses the name on your academy profile.

Do I need CDLA first?

No. Start CEPD if your job is production. Start CDLA if your job is architecture. The catalog lists both as open now — 68 live lessons across the two programs.

Will this get me hired as an eLearning developer?

It gives you a named, printable record of module mastery and a shared vocabulary. It does not replace a portfolio of shipped courses. Use CEPD to tighten the work you already show.
