It is not open source, though it includes Moodle LMS capabilities and can be upgraded from a standard Moodle site. Evolve is a commercial LMS/LXP from one product vendor, with Arabic/RTL surfaces, ILT, skills, in-region or on-prem hosting, and Innovito Studio (studio.innovito.net) as the integrated authoring tool. Procurement often writes “Moodle” when the lot is actually Moodle LMS (GPL) or Moodle Workplace (licensed). Those are different commercial objects. Score the named partner’s SLA either way.

- No. Moodle.com states Workplace is licensed software sold through Premium Certified Partners. Moodle LMS is the open-source project. Do not write one line in an RFP that conflates them.
